Thank you for your interest in becoming a SC Crew Volunteer Mentor! A large part of our program success is our ability to provide mentors to work one on one with the SC Crew youth.

Qualifications: Anyone over the age of 18 who is committed to helping teens may apply to become a SC Crew Mentor. No specific education background is required, but volunteers must have strong communication and problem solving skills. All volunteers will be interviewed and will undergo a reference and background check, including fingerprinting.
Responsibilities:
Complete the SC Crew Mentor training
Attend the SC Crew Meet Ups once a month on Saturdays
Contact assigned mentee(s) once a week for a minimum of one year (at the end of the year you can recommit)
Maintain and submit monthly documentation/case management files on each mentee assigned to you
Contact parents once a quarter to go over the mentee's progression in the program
Be available for conference calls with Program Director and Lead Mentor
Fulfill a minimum one-year commitment to the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation SC Crew Teen Transition Program
