Mentor a Youth

Make a difference in the life of a teen with sickle cell disease
Thank you for your interest in becoming a SC Crew Volunteer Mentor! A large part of our program success is our ability to provide mentors to work one on one with the SC Crew youth.

Anyone over the age of 18 who is committed to helping teens may apply to become a SC Crew Mentor. No specific education background is required, but volunteers must have strong communication and problem solving skills. • Contact assigned mentee(s) once a week for a minimum of one year (at the end of the year you can recommit)

  • Contact parents once a quarter to go over the mentee's progression in the program
  • Be available for conference calls with Program Director and Lead Mentor
